loss
we lose things throughout our life.
we lose cells lining the walls of our gastro-intestinal tract as food moves through our digestive system. we lose the surface layers of our skin through the various activities we go through everyday. we lose our hair as the strong wind blows by. yet these loses, we do not feel. we do not cry n howl over them, we might not even batter our eyelids for them. why. because they do not mean much to us.
we know one day we will lose our memory as time goes by. yet we do not feel for it. why. because we know it has yet to come.
we lose friends as time goes by. we lose the close feelings that we once had for each other. we lose loved ones when they decide that they no longer love us as they did. we lose family members as they move on to another part of life. we lose things that are so meaningful to us, for example, memories. wonderful memories of things that you did with the people u care. events that happened that made a change to our life. these loses, we feel. why. because they mean alot to us. because we know that when we have lost them, they'll no longer be ours.
losing things are part of life. it has been well documented as stated above. what we have to accept is the fact that no matter how much we try, certain things are just out of our control. no matter how much we try to hold onto it, what's not ours will not be ours. no, we do not have to learn to let go. letting go is as good as losing yet another part of us. what we have to learn is to move on.
moving on is never easy, thats why we have friends. friends are always around to help us. never mind if the one u preferred isn't available, what matters most is that there's still someone there. crying helps to smooth the tension within us. it only helps this much. talking with our friend helps alot more than crying. feeling hurt is inevitable. yet inflicting pain upon yourself to distract you of the hurt that you feel will not help. the most it can do is yet leave more scars to remind you of what you've been through. maybe to you it may be some form of relieve, but that's only because you haven't tried talking. as much as i would like it to be, i'm afraid not everyone will be a good friend to talk to. so do not just go around talking to everyone hoping to feel better, because in the end it may even backfire. if you ever do have the need to call someone to talk to, you do not have to scroll through your phonebook. just look for my name and give me a call. i wont promise i'll be totally awake if you're calling in the middle of the night, but i promise if you try hard enough to wake me up, i'll be there for you, as a friend.
